Around the Shop at Z Car Source - Z Car Nostalgia
Nostalgia is a wonderful concept that is a huge part of what we do here at Z Car Source. Each restoration project that comes through our door has a bit of its owner’s nostalgia woven into it. But in addition to our customer’s nostalgia for their Z cars, our staff’s nostalgia for Z cars, and other hobby cars, is a hugely influential force in our company. So this time, we thought it would be fun to do an installment about the Z's and hobby cars of the crew here at Z Car Source, past and present
Over the years there have been quite a few personal Z's for our staff. Some have been pristine all original cars, some have been daily drivers that eventually succumbed to unfortunate rust and others have been ongoing hobby projects. Each one has a special place in our memory and a couple still have spots in the garage.
But in addition to Z cars, there is also a European vintage vibe that happens here at Z Car Source as well.
Any given morning, our parking lot may encounter a variety of vintage BMWs, Volkswagens or the like.
We love cars - Datsun, Nissan or other. And we really love keeping a rolling presentation of history.
While not all of us are of age to have owned and enjoyed an early Z car back in the ‘70’s or ‘80’s, some of us have approached it in a more modern application, as the spirit and styling of the Z car lives on in more modern settings. The love of driving a vehicle that is balanced, with enough power to be fun, with power applied to the rear wheels, and the raw feeling of a non-computerized ride, is a widely enjoyable factor in these cars. While not all of us have or had Z Cars, we are all enthusiasts cut from similar cloth.
At current, we have a handful of projects ongoing that are heavily involved in the various ideals of the concept of nostalgia. Currently, we are working on projects such as modernizing grandpa's truck to keep a part of the owner's youth - while building the opportunity for our client’s own kids to build the same memories. We are working on a 1950's era Mercedes Convertible that we have yet to post about, that is being restored to original factory condition. And don't worry, we also have the 1977 Datsun 280Z that we have posted about, which will embody its owner’s love of nostalgia, while embracing the fun of modernizing the ride while keeping a classic look.
Z Car or not, nostalgia is an important part of who we are, here at Z Car Source, and we look forward to sharing that with all of our customers - now and in the years to come.
And yes, all of the photos in this blog (except the truck and Mercedes) are of our own cars, past and present.
