Over the years, we have had the pleasure of working on many different vehicles, with many different dreams in mind.  From OEM Restorations to completely Custom designs, we have done it all.  Our projects range is size and scope, all unique in their own right.  But every once in a while, we come across a project that really intrigues us, and gets our engines going.  Such is the case with the 1973 Datsun 240Z that we fondly call “The Gold Medallion”.

Where do we start?  Vehicle specs, design philosophy, awards, accolades??? This build has it all.

In 1990 the build started based around a 1973 240Z and was transformed into a lean, mean performance machine, with an emphasis on clean lines and track performance. This machine has it all:

- 3.1L stroker engine

- Ported and polished head

- Competition Nissan 5 speed transmission

- 3.70 limited slip differential

- Stand-alone ignition and fuel management system

- Individual, fuel injected, throttle bodies

- Custom interior

- Custom suspension,

- Custom brakes

…and oh so much more

Oh, and did we mention the over 40 awards including the 25th Anniversary Nissan Gold Medallion award?  (Hence the nickname) This vehicle was FUN!

Then, in 2010 it was parked with about 4,000 miles on it and not regularly driven again. 

Not long ago, we got a call from the car’s owner that they wanted to get the car back to tip top shape, and they asked us to take on the project.  And with a car like this – of course we said yes!  So we took possession of the vehicle and started to work out a punch list of what the customer wanted done, and what we found that needed to be done.
