Z Car Source Core Exchange Policy
In order to keep parts in circulation, some parts that are rebuilt, refinished or remanufactured are sold on a Core Exchange basis. This means that in order to purchase this part, the customers old part must be sent back to ZCS in order to avoid a core charge. Please note: Not all old parts are viable cores. See below for information on core viability.
At checkout, Customers have the option to send their core in prior to ZCS shipping out their order (and avoiding a core charge), or to be assessed a Core Charge so that ZCS can ship their order out prior to receiving the Customers Core.
For customers who elect to send their core prior to ZCS shipping out their order:
If this option is selected, the Customer’s order will be held until the Customer’s Core is received. Cores will be inspected upon receipt to determine viability of the core. If a core is in sub-standard condition, is not Viable or is incomplete, Z Car Source will inspect/evaluate further to determine if core can be salvaged at all. If the core can be partially salvaged, or requires more than the standard amount of work to refurbish or rebuild, a partial core charge may be assessed. If a core is not able to be salvaged, the Core will not be accepted and customer will be given the option to be charged the Core Charge in order to go ahead with the rebuilt part order. They will also be given the opportunity to have their non-viable core returned to them at their own expense.
For customers who elect to be charged the Core Charge, and return their core later:
Once the core is received at ZCS, Cores are inspected to determine viability. If a core is in sub-standard condition, is not Viable or is incomplete, Z Car Source will inspect/evaluate further to determine if core can be salvaged at all. If the core can be partially salvaged, or requires more than the standard amount of work to refurbish or rebuild, a partial core charge may be credited. If a core is not able to be salvaged, the Core will not be accepted, the Core Charge will not be refunded and the Customer will be notified and given the option to have the core returned to them at their own expense. ALL CORES MUST BE RETURNED WITHIN 60 DAYS OF RECEIVING ORDER DELIVERY FROM Z CAR SOURCE.

Please put a copy of your original receipt in the box, and mark the outside of the box with the Sales Order number. All core returns must be packed well and insured for the full purchase price (including shipping). ZCS will process the core charge refund within 2 weeks of receipt of the return (returns made without proper paperwork may take longer).
