Z Car Source Direct Exchange Policy

 

Because of limited availability and in order to keep parts in circulation, some parts that are rebuilt, refinished or remanufactured are sold on a Direct Exchange basis.  Customer must provide a Viable core to purchase these products – prior to ZCS shipping the rebuilt part out.  

For products that are labeled Direct Exchange, Z Car Source will hold the customer’s order until we receive their old part (core).  If the customer is unable to provide a core, the order will be cancelled and refunded.

While we do our best to remind customers to send their Direct Exchange Cores in so that we can process their order, it is the customer’s responsibility to ship Z Car Source their core in a timely manner.  Inability to provide a Direct Exchange Core in a timely manner may result in the order being cancelled and refunded.  Please contact our office if you have any questions.

Once the customer’s core is received in our warehouse, Z Car Source inspects each core return inspected upon arrival to determine viability of each core. 

  • -  If a core is deemed Viable, ZCS will begin processing the order for the rebuilt part.  
  • -  If a core is in sub-standard condition, is not Viable or is incomplete, Z Car Source will inspect/evaluate further to determine if core can be salvaged at all.  If the core can be partially salvaged, or requires more than the standard amount of work to refurbish or rebuild, a partial core charge may be assessed. 
  • -  If a core is not able to be salvaged, Core will not be accepted and customer will be notified and given the option to have the core returned to them at their own expense. 

 

If the Customer’s core is not viable, the order for the part will be cancelled.  If a customer has questions about whether their core is viable, contact our office.  Photos may be required to determine if Customer’s core is viable.

In some rebuilt or refinished part cases, product received by Customer may be the Customer's original core that has been rebuilt/refinished.

Please put a copy of your original receipt in the box, and mark the outside of the box with the Sales Order number.  All core returns must be packed well and insured for the full purchase price (including shipping).  Please pack all Cores well and insure the package for the full product price plus your shipping.  Z Car Source can't be responsible for any loss or damage that happens during shipping so be sure to insure your package, and ship it to us in a trackable manner. 

Z Car Source will begin processing orders with Direct Exchange products as soon as the viable core is received and inspected.

While we understand that returning cores may be an inconvenience, it is imperative to keeping parts available.  Many of the parts for these old cars are no longer manufactured.  By returning your viable core to us, we are able to rebuild, refinish or remanufacture many parts and keep these Z cars on the road, today and in the future.
